There is never enough time.
Don’t ask me what for – you can insert your own activity. Whatever it is, whoever you are, there is just never enough time.
Me, personally, I’m on the go from 6.30am until at least 11.00pm on the daily. I say at least because although I’m normally in bed by 11, my mind never shuts down. Even when I am actually (and rarely) asleep, it is still racing. Solving plot holes, presenting me with new (and sometimes abstract ideas) in the form of dreams and generally continuing with the constant go go go of voices that are forever shouting inside my head.
I’m still learning how best to arrange my time and prioritise my tasks. I have a planner/journal in which I write down EVERYTHING because my mind is so full and over-active that I often forget what I was doing even as I walk into the room to do it. There are days where, if the kids didn’t remind me, I’d forget basic things like lunch.
It’ hard to juggle life, parenting, family duties, chores and then of course let’s add in my own personal stuff. No matter what I do, I simply cannot keep up with the sheer volume of tasks because there are just not enough hours in the day.
So I’d like to add another four. Imagine that – four extra hours a day, just for you, to do whatever you want. Four chore free, distraction free hours every day.
What would you do?
I’d spend it writing of course! But even then, there are so many options; journalling, editing, content creation, video editing, blog posts… and I suppose if for some reason I wasn’t in the mood for writing based tasks (unlikely, but if we’re having this fantasy we may as well follow it through) then I’d certainly be drawing or crafting, most likely making a new journal to gift or sell or fill myself.
Four whole, uninterrupted, amazing hours just for me and my cup of tea (or four).
It’s a nice dream, if nothing else.
